When it comes to social responsibility, FCC is always taking great strides to be socially conscious. At FCC, we are make it a point to be aware of how we can bring change to the world both on and off our properties. We are concerned about how we can affect communities and the lives of others in the world around us. Human Resource & Social Responsibility Executive SENG Makara oversees much of FCC’s community engagement projects and social responsibility programs.
In an effort to raise awareness and encourage an intelligent response to May 1st, the Cambodian Labor Day holiday, Makara will be visiting the Youth Employment Service (YES) Center in Siem Reap. As a guest speaker, Makara will give a special talk to local youth and job seekers in Siem Reap called “How to Access Labor (For Cambodian Youth).” Makara will focus not only on providing general information on labor and professional development in Cambodia, but will provide insight into FCC’s own commitment to youth employment and empowerment. During his talk, Makara will answer the following questions:
- What type of employee does an employer look for?
- How does an employer (HR) decide to short list a job candidate CV?
- How does HR decide to select an applicant after the interview?
- What does it mean to be a good employee?
In addition to answering these questions, Makara will educate those in attendance on hospitality and tourism competencies.
The primary duties of YES include helping youth access labor market information, providing support services to enhance employability, and increase their opportunities to meet the world of work. The YES Center also provides recruitment skills training, including CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation, basic work place culture knowledge, and soft skills training.
